We went to one of the two "fine jewellery" stores in Adelaide with my mum and nana. Bakc then (yes, I am dating myself here) there were no guns, just big old needles. The lady used a purple sharpie to put the marks on my ears where the holes would be. It was awful, I nearly fainted. I can only imagine what I would have been like at a tatoo parlor LOL!Mardi Michelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04125377934755716212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6434726458328084701.post-36719090590557928332010-11-19T19:33:08.116-05:002010-11-19T19:33:08.116-05:00Classic.Classic.Cheryl Arkisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13552721454371060936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6434726458328084701.post-79622731455974827262010-11-19T09:19:54.334-05:002010-11-19T09:19:54.334-05:00Two stories, the only reason I don't have my f...Two stories, the only reason I don't have my first wife's name tattooed someplace and vice versa, is that tattoo parlors in Indiana in the 70s were not open Sunday mornings. By Monday she had sobered up.

When I met her my second wife, who has a different name, did not have pierced ears. Some years later after some serious medical problems with me (I had your husbands attitude toward doctors), and two stays of almost four weeks total at NYU Medical Center, followed by brain surgery after Thanksgiving (25 years ago). I gave my wife a thank you gift of a lovely pair of custom made ginko leaf earings.

Suitable only for pierced ears (she had indicated that it was something she should have done).

A few days later we were in our weekly session with the kid's shrink. My wife mentions that 'He wants me to do unnatural things to my body.' You could see the shrink perk up, note pad comes out, pencil ready. 'He wants me to get my ears pierced'. Shrink had multiple piercings herself. Then got my second ones put in at 16 and then two more on each ear for good measure at 18. I barely wear earrings now and all but the first set have closed. I totally got my conscious piercings at Piercing Pagoda though. Edie is totally braver than I am. She almost passed out 11 years later when I told her I got a piercing at a tattoo/piercing parlor.

Either way, your 4 year old is a TOTAL badass, and she now has the BEST ear-piercing story ever.
